Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK RANGE SENSOR SIGNAL

Turn the ignition switch ON.

Check the voltage between transfer control unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Inspection End.

GO TO 2

CHECK RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect transfer control unit harness connector.
Disconnect range sensor harness connector.

Check the continuity between transfer control unit harness connector and range sensor harness connector.

Check the continuity between mode sensor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3 .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK RANGE SENSOR GROUND

Check the continuity between mode sensor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4 .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK RANGE SENSOR
Check the range sensor. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Inspection End.

NO

Repair range sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
