Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK MODE SENSOR SIGNAL

Turn the ignition switch ON.

Check the voltage between transfer control unit harness connector and ground.

			4WD shift switch: 4H	0V
			4WD shift switch: 4LO	0 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Inspection End.

GO TO 2

CHECK MODE SENSOR CIRCUIT

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect transfer control unit harness connector.
Disconnect mode sensor harness connector.

Check the continuity between transfer control unit harness connector and mode sensor harness connector.

Check the continuity between mode sensor harness connector and ground.

Is inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3 .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK MODE SENSOR GROUND

Check the continuity between mode sensor harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 4 .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK MODE SENSOR
Check the mode sensor. Refer to Component Inspection .

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Inspection End.

NO

Repair mode sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
