Removal and Installation: Removal

- Disconnect battery or batteries, then wait at least three minutes. Refer to Battery Disconnect .
- Partially remove body side welt (LH/RH).
- Remove front pillar finisher (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove glove box assembly and housing. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Disconnect wiring harness (A).
- Release wiring harness clips using suitable tool.
- Remove rear pillar upper finisher (LH/RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
- Remove sun visor assembly (LH/RH) screws, then disconnect harness connector (if equipped) from sun visor assembly (LH/RH).
- Remove sun visor assembly (LH/RH).
- Remove sun visor holder (LH/RH) with the following procedure:
- Insert suitable tool (A) at approximately a 30-degree angle into the sun visor holder notch on the front of the sun visor holder (1) and press in locking tab (B) to release it. While holding in locking tab (B), turn sun visor holder (1) 90 degrees to release it from headlining.
- If the sun visor holder (1) does not fully rotate, make sure that suitable tool (A) is pressing in on locking tab (B) and is not positioned under locking tab (B). Reinsert suitable tool (A) as necessary to release locking tab (B).
CAUTION: Do not force the sun visor holder when removing, the locking tab may be damaged if suitable tool is not positioned correctly.
- Insert suitable tool (A) at approximately a 30-degree angle into the sun visor holder notch on the front of the sun visor holder (1) and press in locking tab (B) to release it. While holding in locking tab (B), turn sun visor holder (1) 90 degrees to release it from headlining.
- Remove rain sensor cover (if equipped).
- Disconnect harness connector from rain sensor (if equipped).
- Disconnect harness connector from inside mirror (with automatic anti-dazzling).
- Remove front roof console (if equipped). Refer to Exploded View .
- Remove front assist grip.
- Release clips using suitable tool, then remove headliner.CAUTION: Do not bend or twist headlining when removing.
- Remove microphone [if necessary (if equipped)].
- Remove front room/map lamp assembly [if necessary (if equipped)].
- Remove personal lamp assembly (if necessary).
