- CHECK KNOCK SENSOR 1 GROUND CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect knock sensor 1 harness connector.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Check the continuity between knock sensor 1 harness connector and ECM harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 2.
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK KNOCK SENSOR 1 INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
- Check the continuity between knock sensor 1 harness connector and ECM harness connector.

YES
GO TO 3.
NO
Repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- Check the continuity between knock sensor 1 harness connector and ECM harness connector.
- CHECK KNOCK SENSOR 1
Check the knock sensor 1. Refer to Component Inspection .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .
NO
Replace knock sensor 1. Refer to Exploded View .
