PR25DD engine: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Drain engine coolant. Refer to Draining .
  2. Remove the engine oil pressure control solenoid valve. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove water hose A and water hose B from oil cooler. Refer to Exploded View .
  4. Remove the engine side under cover (RH). Refer to FENDER PROTECTOR : Exploded View .
  5. Remove bolt securing rear torque rod to rear torque rod bracket. Refer to Exploded View  (FWD) or Exploded View  (AWD).
  6. Remove bolt securing support bearing bracket to oil pan (upper). Refer to Exploded View (FWD) or FRONT DRIVE SHAFT : Exploded View (AWD).
  7. Remove the rear cover plate.
  8. Remove oil pan (upper) using the following procedure:
    1. Loosen oil pan (upper) bolts in reverse of the sequence shown.

    2. Using a suitable tool, open up a gap between the oil pan (upper) and cylinder block.
      CAUTION: The liquid gasket used at the factory is very strong. Do not damage the mating surface.
    3. Insert Tool between oil pan (upper) and cylinder block, and slide it by tapping on the side of the Tool with a hammer.
      CAUTION: Be careful not to damage mating surface.

  9. Remove O-rings between cylinder block and oil pan (upper).
    CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
  10. Remove the oil cooler (if necessary). Refer to Exploded View .
  11. Remove the oil filter (if necessary).
  12. Remove the rear torque rod bracket (if necessary). Refer to Exploded View  (FWD) or Exploded View  (AWD).
  13. Remove the engine oil temperature sensor (if necessary).
    CAUTION: Do not reuse copper sealing washer.
