PARKING BRAKE REAR CABLE : Removal & Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the center console assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Loosen the adjusting nut. Refer to Exploded View .
    NOTE: It is not necessary to remove parking brake front cable.
  3. Pull the equalizer (1) on the front parking brake cable (2) in the direction shown and separate the rear parking brake cable (RH/LH) (3) from the front parking brake cable.

    CAUTION: To prevent damage to parts, do not bend parking brake cables.
  4. Remove the heat insulator covering the rear parking brake cable (RH/LH).
  5. Remove the rear disc brake rotor. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  6. Remove the pin and separate the parking brake rear cable (RH/LH) from the toggle lever. Refer to Exploded View .
  7. Remove nuts and bolts from the rear parking brake cable (RH/LH).
  8. Remove the rear parking brake cable (RH/LH).
