Water Passage Replacement

- Do the battery removal procedure (see RECONNECTION ).
- Remove the intake air duct (see step 7 under ENGINE REMOVAL ).
- Drain the engine coolant (see COOLANT CHECK ).
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose, the lower radiator hose, the heater hoses, and the water bypass hoses from the water passage. Disconnect the ECT sensor 1 connector and the EGR valve connector.
- Remove the EGR pipe (see EGR VALVE REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the water passage.
- Install the water passage with new gaskets in the reverse order of removal.
- Do the battery installation procedure (see RECONNECTION ).
- Refill the radiator with engine coolant, then bleed air from the cooling system (see step 9 under Coolant Replacement ).
- Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
