Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.
- Take care not to kink the hood opener cable.
- Remove these items:
- Front bulkhead cover (see FRONT BULKHEAD COVER REPLACEMENT )
- Front inner fender, left side as needed (see FRONT INNER FENDER REPLACEMENT )
- Driver's dashboard undercover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Kick panel, driver's side (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS )
- Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B) (see HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the hood release handle (C) (see HOOD RELEASE HANDLE REPLACEMENT ), and disconnect the hood opener cable.
- Using a clip remover, detach the clips, and remove the grommet (D) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle.
- Install the cable in the reverse order of removal and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
