Procedure "A"
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Turn ignition switch OFF. Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector E123. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS and WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector terminals No. 15, 16 and ground with CONSULT-II or tester. See Fig 1 . Voltage should be battery voltage. If voltage is as specified, go to step 4 . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- Detect the malfunctioning part. Check the following:
- 40 amp fusible links.
- Harness for open or short between IPDM E/R and battery.
- Check the cooling fan motor circuit. Disconnect cooling fan motor No. 1 harness connector and cooling fan motor No. 2 harness connector. See Fig 2 . Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector E118.
- Check harness continuity between:
- Cooling fan motor No. 1 connector terminal No. 1 and IPDM E/R connector terminal No. 8. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Continuity should exist.
- Cooling fan motor No. 1 connector terminal No. 4 and ground. Continuity should exist.
- Check harness continuity between cooling fan motor No. 2 connector terminal No. 1 and IPDM E/R connector terminal No. 13. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Continuity should exist.
- Cooling fan motor No. 2 connector terminal No. 4 and ground. Continuity should exist.
- Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
- If circuit checks OK, go to COOLING FAN MOTORS (NO. 1 & 2) . If problem is found in circuit, repair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
