Engine And Emission Control Maintenance

Abbreviations: I = Inspect and correct or replace as necessary, R = Replace, E = Check and correct the engine coolant mixture ratio.

(1) These maintenance items should be performed more frequently according to "Maintenance Under Severe Driving Conditions".
(2) Periodic maintenance is not required. However, if valve noise increases, check valve clearance.
(3) Replace the drive belts if found damaged.
(4) Use Genuine NISSAN Engine Coolant or equivalent in its quality, in order to avoid possible aluminum corrosion within the engine cooling system caused by the use of non-genuine engine coolant. After first replacement, replace every 40,000 km (24,000 miles) or 24 months.
(5) Maintenance-free item. For service procedures, refer to " MA-31 -->BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND LEAKS

(6) These maintenance items should be performed more frequently according to "Maintenance Under Severe Driving Conditions".
(7) If towing a trailer, using a camper or a car-top carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads, inspect CVT fluid deterioration with CONSULT-III every 100,000 km (60,000 miles), then change CVT fluid NS-2 if necessary. (Refer to "CONSULT-III FUNCTION (TRANSMISSION) ".) And if CONSULT-III is not available, change (not just inspect) CVT fluid NS-2 every 100,000 km (60,000 miles). Using transmission fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-2 will damage the CVT, which is not covered by the warranty.
