A/T Does Not Shift: D3 -> D4

SYMPTOM:
- A/T does not shift from D 3 to D 4 at the specified speed.
- A/T must be warm before D 3 to D 4 shift will occur.
- CHECK SYMPTOM
Are "Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In "D", "2" Or "1" Position" and "Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1 " OK?
Yes or No
- Yes: GO TO 2.
- No: Go to "Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In "D ", "2" Or "1" Position", and "Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1 ", .
- CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
With CONSULT-II
Does self-diagnosis, after cruise test, show damage to any of the following circuits?
- Inhibitor switch
- Overdrive control switch
- A/T fluid temperature sensor
- Revolution sensor
- Shift solenoid valve A or B
- Vehicle speed sensor
Yes or No
- Yes: Check damaged circuit. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ", , "DTC P0710 A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT ", , "DTC P0720 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR A/T (REVOLUTION SENSOR) ", , "DTC P0750 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE A ", , "DTC P0755 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE B ", or "DTC VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR-MTR ", .
- No: GO TO 3.
- CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR (THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR)
Check accelerator pedal position sensor (throttle position sensor). Refer to ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR .

OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 4.
- NG: Repair or replace accelerator pedal position sensor (throttle position sensor)
- CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION
- Remove oil pan.
- Check A/T fluid condition.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 5.
- NG: GO TO 7.
- DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
- Remove CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY AND ACCUMULATORS .
- Check the following items:
- Shift valve B
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Pilot valve
- Pilot filter
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 6.
- NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
- CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.
OK or NG
- OK: INSPECTION END
- NG:
- Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
- If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
- DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
- Remove CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY AND ACCUMULATORS .
- Check the following items:
- Shift valve B
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Pilot valve
- Pilot filter
- Disassemble A/T.
- Check the following items:
- Servo piston assembly
- Brake band
- Torque converter
- Oil pump assembly
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 6.
- NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
