Hood Switch Check

PRELIMINARY CHECK
1. Turn ignition switch OFF and remove key from ignition key cylinder. "SECURITY" indicator lamp should blink every 2.6 seconds.
2. Close all doors, hood and trunk lid.
3. Lock doors with multi-remote controller from inside the vehicle. "SECURITY" indicator lamp should turn on for 30 seconds.
4. Unlock hood with hood opener within 30 seconds after door is locked. "SECURITY" indicator lamp should turn off.
OK or NG
1. OK: Hood switch is OK, and go to trunk room lamp switch check.
2. NG: GO TO 2 .
CHECK HOOD SWITCH FITTING CONDITION
OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 3 .
2. NG: Adjust installation of hood switch or hood.
CHECK HOOD SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II

Check hood switch ("HOOD SWITCH") in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II

Without CONSULT-II

Check voltage between smart entrance control unit harness connector M121 terminal 6 (Y/B) and ground.

Refer to wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAM - VEHSEC .

OK or NG
1. OK: Hood switch is OK, and go to glass hatch switch check.
2. NG: GO TO 4 .
CHECK HOOD SWITCH
1. Disconnect hood switch connector.
2. Check continuity between hood switch terminals 1 and 2.

OK or NG
1. OK: Check the following.
  - Hood switch ground circuit
  - Harness for open or short between smart entrance control unit and hood switch
2. NG: Replace hood switch.
