DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Infiniti QX4, 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2001 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode for A/T. Apply vacuum to throttle opener. See Figure. Check TP sensor operation. See TP SENSOR OPERATION  table. If TP sensor operation is as specified, go to next step. If TP sensor operation is not as specified, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
  2. Start engine. Road test vehicle. Accelerate to more than 6 MPH for more than 3 seconds with gearshift lever in "D" position, O/D on and TP sensor voltage at 3 volts or less. If test result is not okay, see DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If test result is okay, go to next step.
  3. Start engine. Road test vehicle and accelerate to more than 6 MPH and depress accelerator fully for more than 3 seconds with gearshift lever in "D" position, O/D on.

Partially Opened 0.1-4.6 OFF OFF
Fully Open More Than 1.9-4.6 OFF ON
