Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Infiniti QX4, 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2001 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Inspect revolution sensor. See REVOLUTION SENSOR under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If okay, go to next step.
- Start engine. Using DVOM set to AC volts, measure voltage (backprobe) between TCM harness connector terminal No. 29 and ground while driving. Voltage should rise gradually in response to vehicle speed. Voltage: At zero MPH = zero volts and at 19 MPH = one volt or more. If okay, go to step 4. If not, go to next step.
- Inspect harness for short or open between TCM and revolution sensor. Inspect ground circuit. Repair as necessary. If okay, go to next step.
- Road test and perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE . If DTC is still present, recheck applicable TCM input/output signals. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If any voltage measured is not as specified, check connector pin terminals for damage or loose connection to harness connector. Repair as necessary.
