DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Infiniti QX4, 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2001 Infiniti QX4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode for A/T.
  2. Road test vehicle and check for increase of Vehicle Speed Sensor Meter (VHCL/S SE.MTR) value. If VHCL/S SE.MTR value does not increase, see VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR/MTR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If VHCL/S SE.MTR value is okay, go to next step.
    3. NOTE: Driving vehicle uphill will help maintain conditions necessary for this step.
  3. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode for ENGINE. Road test vehicle with gearshift lever in "D" position, O/D on. Maintain vehicle speed of more than 19 MPH and TP sensor voltage greater than 1.2 volts for at least 5 seconds. If test result is okay, go to next step.
    4. NOTE: Driving vehicle uphill will help maintain conditions necessary for this step.
  4. Road test vehicle with gearshift lever in "D" position, O/D on. Maintain camshaft position sensor reference signal of 3500 RPM or more, and TP sensor voltage greater than 1.2 volts for at least 5 seconds.
