Diagnostic Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Infiniti G20, 2001 Nissan Sentra, and 2001 Infiniti G20. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- With ignition off, disconnect transaxle harness connector. Measure resistance of line pressure solenoid valve between transaxle harness connector terminal No. 4 and ground. Resistance should be 2.5-5 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to step 3. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
- Remove valve body assembly. See appropriate SERVICING article. Check line pressure solenoid valve. See LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE under COMPONENT TESTS. Check transaxle harness and connectors for open or short. Repair as necessary. After repairs, go to next step.
- Check power source circuit. Measure resistance of line pressure solenoid circuit between transaxle harness connector terminal No. 4 and TCM connector terminal No. 2. Resistance should be 10-15 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check dropping resistor. See DROPPING RESISTOR under COMPONENT TESTS. Inspect harness for open or short between TCM connector terminal No. 2 and transaxle harness connector (vehicle side). If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Measure resistance of line pressure solenoid circuit between transaxle harness connector terminal No. 4 and TCM terminal No. 1. Resistance should be zero ohms. If resistance is not as specified, repair or replace harness as necessary. After repairs, go to next step.
- Road test and perform DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE . If DTC is still present, recheck applicable TCM input/output signals. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If any voltage measured is not as specified, check TCM connector terminals for damage or loose connection to harness connector. Repair as necessary.
