DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Infiniti G20, 2001 Nissan Sentra, and 2001 Infiniti G20. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select DATA MONITOR mode for A/T.
  2. Ensure output voltage of Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor is 0.4-1.5 volts. If voltage is out of range, drive to decrease voltage (warm up fluid) or stop engine to increase voltage (cool down fluid).
  3. Using scan tool, select 3RD GR FNCTN P0733 of DTC WORK SUPPORT mode for A/T. Press START.
  4. Road test vehicle. Accelerate to 43-53 MPH with selector lever in "D" position and overdrive on. Release accelerator pedal fully. Ensure scan tool display GEAR shows 4 after releasing pedal.
  5. Accelerate to 43-53 MPH. Depress accelerator pedal steadily with throttle position scan tool display of 3.5/8-4.5/8 until TESTING changes to STOP VEHICLE or COMPLETED. It will take about 3 seconds. Ensure scan tool display GEAR shows 3 when depressing accelerator.
  6. Stop vehicle. Ensure OK is displayed. Check for normal shifting. See SHIFT SOLENOID OPERATION  table under DESCRIPTION & OPERATION/OUTPUT DEVICES.
