O/D Off Indicator Light Does Not Illuminate

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra, 2002 Infiniti G20, 2001 Nissan Sentra, and 2001 Infiniti G20. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, check for battery voltage between TCM terminals No. 10, 19, 28 and ground. Turn ignition off. Check for battery voltage between TCM terminal No. 28 and ground. If voltage is not present at any terminal, check appropriate circuit for open or short. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is present at all terminals, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TCM harness connector. Check for continuity between TCM terminals No. 25, 48 and ground. If continuity does not exist between terminals and ground, repair as necessary. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between TCM terminals No. 10 and 13. Resistance should be 50-100 ohms. If resistance is as specified, circuit is okay. Problem may be intermittent. Connect all components and retest. If resistance is not as specified, inspect indicator light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, inspect circuits between bulb socket and TCM. Repair as needed. If both circuits are okay, recheck applicable TCM input/output signals. See PIN VOLTAGE TESTS . If any voltage measured is not as specified, check TCM connector terminals for damage or loose connection to harness connector. Repair as necessary.
