DTC Confirmation Test "A"

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If target idle speed is not 600-700 RPM (M/T) or 750-850 RPM (A/T), perform idle air volume learning before performing DTC confirmation test. See IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING  under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE: Before proceeding, ensure battery voltage is more than 10.5 volts with ignition on.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Start engine.
  2. Hold engine speed at 2500 RPM for 3 seconds, then let engine idle for 3 seconds.
  3. Perform step  2 again. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, turn ignition off, wait at least 5 seconds and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST "B" & "C"  .
