DTC Confirmation Test "B"

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Nissan Sentra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with scan tool. Start engine and let it idle for at least 10 seconds.
  2. If idle speed is more than 1000 RPM, maintain the following conditions for at least 10 seconds to keep engine speed below 1000 RPM:

    A/T Models

    • Transmission: except Park or Neutral.
    • Brake pedal: depressed.
    • Vehicle speed: zero MPH.

    M/T Models

    • Transmission: except Neutral (3rd or 4th gear is better to keep low engine RPM).
    • Accelerator pedal: released.
    • Vehicle speed: zero MPH.
  3. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, turn ignition off, wait at least 10 seconds, then go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST "C"  .
