Sound Is Not Heard From Front Door Speaker or Front Tweeter (BOSE System)

  1. HARNESS CHECK 
    1. Disconnect BOSE speaker amp. connector M112 and suspect speaker connector.
    2. Check continuity between BOSE speaker amp. harness connector terminal M112 and suspect speaker harness connector terminal.
      CONTINUITY SPECIFICATION

      Terminals Continuity
      BOSE speaker amp. Speaker or tweeter

      M112 13 (L/W) D3 + (L/W)
      14 (L/R) -(L/R) Yes
      15 (W/B) D103 + (W/B)
      16 (L/B) -(L/B)

      15 (W/B) M111 + (W/B)
      16 (L/B) -(L/B)
    3. Check continuity between BOSE speaker amp. harness connector terminal M112 and ground.

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 2.
    2. NG:
      • Check connector housings for disconnected or loose terminals.
      • Repair harness or connector.
  2. FRONT SPEAKER SIGNAL CHECK 
    1. Connect BOSE speaker amp. connector M112 and suspect speaker connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch to ACC.
    3. Push "POWER" switch.
    4. Check the signal BOSE speaker amp. harness connector M112 terminal with CONSULT-II or oscilloscope.

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Replace suspect speaker. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF FRONT DOOR SPEAKER  " or Removal and Installation of Front Tweeter  .
    2. NG: GO TO 3.
  3. HARNESS CHECK 
    1. Disconnect audio unit connector and BOSE speaker amp. connector.
    2. Check continuity between audio unit harness connector terminal and BOSE speaker amp. harness connector terminal.

    3. Check continuity between audio unit harness connector terminal and ground.
    CONTINUITY SPECIFICATION

    Connector Terminal (Wire color)
    M43 1 (B) Ground No
    2 (W)
    3 (LG)
    4 (V)

    OK or NG

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG:
      • Check connector housings for disconnected or loose terminals.
      • Repair harness or connector.

  4. FRONT SPEAKER SIGNAL CHECK 
    1. Connect audio unit connector and BOSE speaker amp. connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ACC.
    3. Push "POWER" switch.
    4. Check the signal audio unit harness connector terminal with CONSULT-II or oscilloscope.

    OK or NG

    1. OK: Replace BOSE speaker amp. Refer to Removal and Installation of BOSE Speaker Amp.  .
    2. NG: Replace audio unit. Refer to Removal and Installation for Audio Unit  .
