A/T Does Not Shift: D3 --> D4

SYMPTOM: 

  1. CHECK SYMPTOM 

    Are "Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In D Or L Position" and "Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1" OK?

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: GO TO 2.
    2. No: Go to "VEHICLE DOES NOT CREEP FORWARD IN D OR L POSITION " and "VEHICLE CANNOT BE STARTED FROM D1 ".
  2. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS 

    With CONSULT-II 

    Does self-diagnosis show damage to park/neutral position (PNP) switch, overdrive control switch, A/T fluid temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor-A/T (revolution sensor), shift solenoid valve A or B, vehicle speed sensor-MTR circuits?

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: Check damaged circuit. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ", "DTC P0710 A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT ", "DTC P0720 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR A/T (REVOLUTION SENSOR) ", "DTC P0750 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE A ", "DTC P0755 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE B " or "DTC VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR MTR ".
    2. No: GO TO 3.
  3. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR 

    Check accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor. Refer to "DTC P1705 THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR [ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR] ".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG: Repair or replace accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor circuit.
  4. CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION 
    1. Remove oil pan.

    2. Check A/T fluid condition.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  6.
    2. NG: GO TO 5.
  5. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Remove control valve assembly. Refer to "CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY AND ACCUMULATORS ".
    2. Check the following items:
      • Shift valve A
      • Shift solenoid valve A
      • Overrun clutch control valve
      • Overrun clutch solenoid valve
      • Pilot valve
      • Pilot filter
    3. Disassemble A/T.
    4. Check the following items:
      • Servo piston assembly
      • Brake band

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO  7.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  6. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM 
    1. Remove control valve assembly. Refer to "CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY AND ACCUMULATORS ".
    2. Check the following items:
      1. Shift valve A
      2. Shift solenoid valve A
      3. Overrun clutch control valve
      4. Overrun clutch solenoid valve
      5. Pilot valve
      6. Pilot filter

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 7.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
  7. CHECK SYMPTOM 

    Check again.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: GO TO 8.
  8. CHECK TCM INSPECTION 
    1. perform TCM input/output signal inspection. Refer to "TCM TERMINALS AND REFERENCE VALUE ".
    2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
