Inspection Procedure 3: The system is not turned on and off by changing the BSW setting: Diagnosis
- STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), diagnose the CAN bus line. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE).
- Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-IIISE) ."
- Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
- Diagnose the CAN bus line.
- Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
Q: Is the CAN bus line found to be normal?
YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- STEP 2. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), read the other system DTC.
Check the DTC is set in the combination meter.
Q: Is the DTC set?
YES: Diagnose the combination meter (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART ).
NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-IIISE), check data list.
Check the following data list (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE ).
- When the BSW setting operation.

Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Go to Step 4.
NO: Replace the combination meter.
- When the BSW setting operation.
- STEP 4. Retest the system.
Check whether the system can be switched on and off by the BSW setting.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES: Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
NO: Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
