Inspection Procedure 7: Fuel Gauge does not work (other meters work): Diagnosis
- STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, read the combination meter diagnostic trouble code. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958.
- Connect scan tool MB991958. Refer to DIAGNOSIS ."
- Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
- Check if DTC No. B1201 is set.
Q: Is the DTC No. B1201 set?
YES : Perform the troubleshooting of when the DTC is set (Refer to DTC B1201: Abnormal fuel information <FWD> <FWD> or DTC B1201: Abnormal fuel information <AWD> <AWD>).
NO : Go to Step 2.
- STEP 2. Check the fuel level sensor.
Check to see if the fuel level sensor is normal (Refer to FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CHECK ).
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES : Go to Step 3.
NO : Replace the fuel level sensor.
- STEP 3. Retest the system.
Check that the fuel gauge works normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
YES : The procedure is complete.
NO : Replace the combination meter.
