Diagnostic Procedure

  1. STEP 1. Inspect the foot brake or parking brake. 

    Check that the foot brake or parking brake is not dragging.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Adjust the foot brake or parking brake.
  2. STEP 2. Retest the system. 

    Q: Does a malfunction take place again? 

    1. YES:  Replace the mechatronic assembly. (Refer to << A >> MECHATRONIC ASSEMBLY REMOVAL .) Then go to Step 3.
    2. NO:  Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .)
  3. STEP 3. Retest the system. 

    Q: Does a malfunction take place again? 

    1. YES:  Replace the clutch assembly. (Refer to TRANSAXLE .) Then go to Step 4.
    2. NO:  Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .)
  4. STEP 4. Retest the system. 

    Q: Does a malfunction take place again? 

    1. YES:  Replace the transaxle assembly. (Refer to << B >> TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR REMOVAL
    2. NO:  Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .)
