Speedometer Check

CAUTION: Do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly.
  1. Set the vehicle to the following condition:
    • Operations of lighting, cooling fan, accessory parts: OFF
    • Selector lever: P or N position
  2. Check that the current tire inflation pressures meet the inflation pressure label.
  3. Set the vehicle on the speedometer tester.

  4. To prevent front wheel lateral runout or vehicle sudden start, attach a chain or wire to the front and rear towing hooks and fix the other end of the chain or wire to the anchor plate.
  5. Operate the ASC OFF switch to disable the ASC.
  6. Carry out the speedometer test. Check whether the speedometer indication is within the standard value.

  7. After the test, use the scan tool MB991958 to erase vehicle speed sensor failure-related diagnostic trouble code, which may be set in the ASC-ECU and the EV-ECU, as necessary.
