Diagnostic Procedure

Required Special Tools: 

  1. STEP 1. Scan tool CAN bus diagnostics 

    Using scan tool MB991958, diagnose the CAN bus lines.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to TROUBLESHOOTING .) After repairing the CAN bus line, go to Step 2.
  2. STEP 2. Scan tool data list 

    Item No. 32: Drive mode switch (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE  .)

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .)
    2. NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Twin clutch SST control mode switch check 

    Refer to SENSOR, SWITCH AND RELAY .

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 4.
    2. NO:  Replace the twin clutch SST control mode switch. (Refer to SENSOR, SWITCH AND RELAY .)
  4. STEP 4. Twin clutch SST control mode switch connector check: C-49-2 

    Check for the contact with terminals.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 5.
    2. NO:  Repair the defective connector.
  5. STEP 5. Retest the system 

    Q: Does a malfunction take place again? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 6
    2. NO:  The inspection is complete.
  6. STEP 6. Trouble symptom recheck after replacing the shift lever assembly 
    1. Replace the shift lever assembly. (Refer to >> A << TRANSAXLE CONTROL CABLE (TRANSAXLE SIDE/SHIFT LEVER SIDE) INSTALLATION .)
    2. Verify that the condition described by the customer exists.

    Q: Does a malfunction take place again? 

    1. YES:  Replace the mechatronic assembly. (Refer to << A >> MECHATRONIC ASSEMBLY REMOVAL .)
    2. NO:  Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .)
