DTC C1703: LDW CAMERA not Initialization: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Check the camera mounted surface on the windshield. 

    Visually check the LDW camera mounted surface on the windshield for scratch, cracks, contamination or drain drops.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Initialize the LDW camera. (Refer to HOW TO INITIALIZE THE LDW CAMERA  ). Then go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Windshield glass replacement (Refer to WINDSHIELD GLASS REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .)
  2. STEP 2. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code. 

    Check if the DTC No. C1703 is stored in LDW-ECU.

    1. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Replace the LDW-ECU.
    2. NO:  This diagnosis is complete.
