LDW-ECU (LIGHT SENSOR) CHECK < Vehicles with LDW) >

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Using the scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check the data list of LDW. It is judged normal if the display turns ON from OFF when the light receiver of LDW-ECU (light sensor) is covered by hand, with item No.81: Taillight, 82: Low beam, and 83: Tunnel detection.

NOTE:
  • When covering the LDW-ECU (light sensor) receiver, be careful not to touch the windshield surface (where the LDW-ECU (light sensor) receiver is mounted). (The LDW-ECU (light sensor) receiver has limited resistance to oil.)
  • Before checking the data list by using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), wipe the windshield thoroughly and visually check if there are foreign materials on the windshield to which the LDW-ECU (light sensor) is installed.
