Inspection Procedure A-9: Power liftgate automatic operation does not work normally by the operation of power liftgate switch. (Open/close operation is not performed.): Diagnosis

STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list

Check the signals related to the power liftgate operation.

Power liftgate switch: OFF → ON

Item No.	Item name	Normal conditions
Item 2	Remote SW at driver's seat	OFF → ON

OK: Normal conditions are displayed for all the items.

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES: Go to Step 2.
NO: Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE B-8 "POWER LIFTGATE SWITCH SIGNAL IS NOT RECEIVED" .

STEP 2. Check of the troubles
Check whether the power liftgate works normally.

Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Replace the power liftgate control unit.
