Inspection Procedure B-8: Power liftgate switch signal is not received: Diagnosis

- STEP 1. Power liftgate switch check
Check the power liftgate switch (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK ).
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2.
- NO: Replace the power liftgate switch.
- STEP 2. Resistance measurement at power liftgate switch connector (OPSW terminal).
- Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
- Measure the resistance between power liftgate switch connector and body ground.
OK: Continuity exists (10 Ω or less)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 4.
- NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between power liftgate switch connector and body ground.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 4. Check of open circuit in OPSW line between power liftgate control unit connector and power liftgate switch connector.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 5.
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 5. Check of the troubles
Check whether the power liftgate switch signal is received normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Replace the power liftgate control unit.
