Inspection Procedure B-8: Power liftgate switch signal is not received: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Power liftgate switch check 

    Check the power liftgate switch (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK  ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Replace the power liftgate switch.
  2. STEP 2. Resistance measurement at power liftgate switch connector (OPSW terminal). 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between power liftgate switch connector and body ground.

      OK: Continuity exists (10 Ω or less) 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between power liftgate switch connector and body ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in OPSW line between power liftgate control unit connector and power liftgate switch connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Check of the troubles 

    Check whether the power liftgate switch signal is received normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal?
