Inspection Procedure B-4: Door-ajar signal is not received: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Door-ajar switch inspection 

    Check the liftgate latch (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK  ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Replace the liftgate latch.
  2. STEP 2. Resistance measurement at liftgate latch connector (door-ajar switch ground line terminal). 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between liftgate latch connector (door-ajar switch ground line terminal) and body ground.

      OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less). 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between liftgate latch connector (door-ajar switch terminal) and body ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 6.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in LTH line between power liftgate control unit connector and liftgate latch connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Check of the troubles 

    Check that the door-ajar switch signal is received normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  6. STEP 6. After the replacement of liftgate latch, recheck of the troubles. 
    1. Replace the liftgate latch.
    2. Check that the door-ajar switch signal is received normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  The procedure is complete.
    • NO:  Replace the power liftgate control unit.
