Inspection Procedure B-3: Liftgate lock release handle signal is not received: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Liftgate lock release handle check. 

    Check the liftgate lock release handle (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK  ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Replace the liftgate lock release handle.
  2. STEP 2. Resistance measurement at liftgate lock release handle connector (ground line terminal). 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between liftgate lock release handle connector (ground line terminal) and body ground.

      OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less). 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between liftgate lock release handle connector and body ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in GOPN line between power liftgate control unit connector and liftgate lock release handle connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Check of the troubles 

    Check that the liftgate lock release handle signal is received normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal?
