Inspection Procedure B-2: Power liftgate close switch signal is not received: Diagnosis

- STEP 1. Power liftgate close switch inspection
Check the power liftgate close switch (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK ).
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2.
- NO: Replace the power liftgate close switch.
- STEP 2. Resistance measurement at power liftgate close switch connector (ground line terminal).
- Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
- Measure the resistance between power liftgate close switch connector (ground line terminal) and body ground.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 4.
- NO: Go to Step 3.
- STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between power liftgate close switch connector and body ground.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 4. Check of open circuit in GCLS line between power liftgate control unit connector and power liftgate close switch connector.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 5.
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 5. Check of the troubles
Check whether the power liftgate close switch signal is received normally.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Replace the power liftgate control unit.
