DTC B2485: Left side touch sensor open circuit: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Liftgate sensor (LH) check. 

    Check the liftgate sensor (LH) (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK  ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Replace the liftgate sensor (LH).
  2. STEP 2. Resistance measurement at liftgate sensor (LH) connector (ground line terminal). 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between the liftgate sensor (LH) connector (ground line terminal) and body ground.

      OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less) 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in TSG line between power liftgate control unit connector and liftgate sensor (LH) connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in TSL line between power liftgate control unit connector and liftgate sensor (LH) connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is stored again. 
    1. Clear all the DTC stored in the power liftgate control unit.
    2. Operate the power liftgate.
    3. Check whether a DTC is stored in the power liftgate control unit.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    • YES:  Replace the power liftgate control unit.
    • NO:  The diagnosis is complete.
