DTC B2482: No detection of neutral SW: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Neutral switch inspection. 

    Check the liftgate latch (refer to LIFTGATE LATCH CHECK  ).

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Replace the liftgate latch.
  2. STEP 2. Resistance measurement at liftgate latch connector (neutral switch ground line terminal). 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between the liftgate latch connector (neutral switch ground line terminal) and body ground.

      OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less) 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in ground line between liftgate latch connector (neutral switch terminal) and body ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to  Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in NTL line between power liftgate control unit connector and liftgate latch connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code. 
    1. Clear all the DTC stored in the power liftgate control unit.
    2. Operate the power liftgate.
    3. Check whether a DTC is stored in the power liftgate control unit.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    • YES:  Replace the power liftgate control unit.
    • NO:  The diagnosis is complete.
