DTC C1564: Vehicle speed data invalid: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, diagnose the CAN bus lines. 

    Use the scan tool to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to CAN BUS DIAGNOSTICS CHART .). After repairing the CAN bus lines, go to Step 2.
  2. STEP 2. DTC recheck after resetting CAN bus lines 

    Recheck if DTC C1564 is stored.

    1. Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) from the "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON" position.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.
    3. Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 3.
    • NO:  The procedure is complete.
  3. STEP 3. Use scan tool MB991958 to confirm a DTC of other systems. 

    Check that the ASC-ECU stores a DTC.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    • YES:  Perform the troubleshooting for the ASC-ECU (Refer to TROUBLESHOOTING .).
    • NO:  Go to Step 4.
  4. STEP 4. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Recheck if the DTC is stored.

    1. Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) from the "LOCK" (OFF) to "ON" position.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.
    3. Turn the ignition switch (engine starting switch) to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

    Q: Is DTC C1564 stored? 

    • YES:  Replace the ETACS-ECU < Vehicles without Keyless Operation System > (Refer to ETACS-ECU .) or KOS-ECU < Vehicles with Keyless Operation System > (Refer to KOS-ECU .)
    • NO:  The diagnosis is complete.
