Code No. C1242: Straight G Sensor Signal: Diagnosis

- STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) CAN bus diagnostics.
Use scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- STEP 2. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1242 stored?
- YES: Go to Step 3.
- NO: This diagnosis is complete.
- STEP 3. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) other system DTC.
Check the ASC DTC (Refer to TROUBLESHOOTING ).
Q: Is the DTC stored?
- YES: Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
- NO: Go to Step 4.
- STEP 4. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) other system DTC.
Check if the wheel speed sensor-related DTC is stored.
Q: Is the DTC stored?
- YES: Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
- NO: Go to Step 5.
- STEP 5. Check of hydraulic unit (integrated with G and yaw rate sensor) installation status.
Check that the hydraulic unit (integrated with G and yaw rate sensor) is installed correctly ( HYDRAULIC UNIT (INTEGRATED WITH G AND YAW RATE SENSOR) ).
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 6.
- NO: Reinstall the hydraulic unit (integrated with G and yaw rate sensor) correctly. Then go to Step 6.
- STEP 6. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) data list.
Check the following data list (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE ).
- Item No.24: Longitudinal G sensor
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 7.
- NO: Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with G and yaw rate sensor) (Refer to HYDRAULIC UNIT (INTEGRATED WITH G AND YAW RATE SENSOR) ). Then go to Step 8.
- STEP 7. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1242 stored?
- YES: Replace the AWD-ECU (Refer to AWD-ECU ). Then go to Step 8.
- NO: Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- STEP 8. Check whether the DTC is stored again.
Q: Is DTC No. C1242 stored?
- YES: Return to Step 1.
- NO: This diagnosis is complete.
