Trouble Symptom Chart

CAUTION: During diagnosis, a diagnostic trouble code associated with other system may be stored when the ignition switch is turned on with connector(s) disconnected. On completion, confirm all systems for diagnostic trouble code(s). If diagnostic trouble code(s) are stored, erase them all.

SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III) CANNOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLER DRIVE MODE SELECTOR SYSTEM. 1 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: Communication Between Scan Tool and AWC-ECU Cannot be Established 
 
SHIFTING THE DRIVE MODE SELECTOR DOES NOT CHANGE THE MODE 2 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 2: Shifting the Drive Mode Selector Does not Change the Mode 
 
THE TIGHT CORNER BRAKING PHENOMENON(1) APPEARS WITH THE DRIVE MODE SELECTOR IN THE AWC ECO OR NORMAL POSITION.
NOTE: The vehicle is tuned so that the tight corner braking phenomenon appears at a certain level with the drive mode in the SNOW or LOCK position.
3 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 3: The Tight Corner Braking Phenomenon* Appears with the Drive Mode Selector in the AWC ECO or NORMAL Position .
 
4WD SYSTEM CHECK SCREEN IS DISPLAYED ON THE CENTER OF THE MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY AND A "4WD" SYMBOL FLASHES AT THE LEFT TOP. BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES ARE STORED. 4 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 4: 4WD system check screen is displayed on the center of the multi-information display and a "4WD" symbol flashes at the left top. But no diagnostic trouble codes are stored 
 
MALFUNCTION OF POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT SYSTEM 5 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 5: Malfunction of Power Supply Circuit System 
 
WHEN THE ECO MODE SWITCH IS TURNED ON, THE DRIVE MODE IS NOT SWITCHED INTO AWC ECO MODE. 6 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 6: When the ECO Mode Switch is Turned On, the Drive Mode is not Switched into AWC ECO Mode 
 
(1) Tight corner braking phenomenon: When a AWD vehicle makes sharp cornering in a paved road at low speed (ex. parallel parking), there is a difference in turning radius between front and rear wheels. If such a difference can no longer be compensated by tire slippage, the vehicle behaves as if it is under braking.
