Precautions For Diagnosis

Check that a standard steering wheel is installed correctly to the neutral position of the steering column shaft assembly.
Whenever the system is diagnosed or the S-AWC system component is removed and installed, use the scan tool (M.U.T.-III) to check whether a diagnostic trouble code is stored. If a diagnostic trouble code is stored, erase it and then check again whether it is stored.
Prior to the diagnosis, all the four wheels must be in good condition (correct size, specification, inflation pressure, balance and wear pattern). The S-AWC system does not work correctly when a different size wheel or tire is installed.
The wheel alignment is correct.
No modifications to the engine, suspension, or others, which can affect the S-AWC system, is implemented.
