Diagnostic Procedure

  1. STEP 1. Scan tool (M.U.T.-III) data list 

    Check the following data list (Refer to DATA LIST REFERENCE TABLE  ).

    • Item No.41: Mode SW

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to  Step 4.
    2. NO:  Go to Step 2.
  2. STEP 2. Check the wiring harness between drive mode selector connector and AWC-ECU connector terminal SW-1. 

    Check the output line for short circuit.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 3.
    2. NO:  Repair the defective connector or the wiring harness.
  3. STEP 3. Drive mode selector inspection 

    Refer to DRIVE MODE SELECTOR INSPECTION .

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 4.
    2. NO:  Replace the drive mode selector (Refer to DRIVE MODE SELECTOR ). Then go to  Step 5.
  4. STEP 4. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Q: Is the DTC No. C1613 stored? 

    1. YES:  Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to AWC-ECU < Vehicles with S-AWC >  ). Then go to Step 5.
    2. NO:  Intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
  5. STEP 5. Check whether the DTC is stored again. 

    Q: Is the DTC No. C1613 stored? 

    1. YES:  Return to  Step 1.
    2. NO:  This diagnosis is complete.
