Inspection Procedure 12: KOS timer lock function does not work: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Check the keyless entry function operation 

    Check that the keyless entry function operation normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE 11: "KEYLESS ENTRY FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK  ."
  2. STEP 2. Check the door entry function operation 

    Check that the door entry function operation normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 3.
    2. NO:  Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART  .
  3. STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), read the diagnostic trouble code. 

    Check if any DTC is stored in the KOS-ECU.

    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
    3. Check if DTC is stored.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  .
    2. NO:  Go to Step 4.
  4. STEP 4. Check of the troubles 

    Check that the KOS timer lock function operates.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
    2. NO:  Perform troubleshooting for each door switch (Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART ).
