DTC B2400: F.A.S.T. key registration fail: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Interference check at keyless operation key registration 

    At the keyless operation key registration, check if there is another key nearby or anything that interferes with the communication (magnets or objects that generate radio waves such as air-cleaning devices with a power plug).

    Q: Are there other keys or anything that interferes with the communication? 

    1. YES:  Move away or remove other keys or anything that interferes with the communication.
    2. NO:  Go to Step 2
  2. STEP 2. Check of keyless operation key registration method 

    Check that the correct method was used at the registration of keyless operation key.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 3
    2. NO:  Register the keyless operation key. (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE < KOS-ECU >  .)
  3. STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), diagnose the CAN bus line. 
    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
    3. Diagnose the CAN bus line.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.

    Q: Is the CAN bus line found to be normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 4.
    2. NO:  Repair the CAN bus line. (Refer to DIAGNOSIS ).
  4. STEP 4. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), read the diagnostic trouble code. 
    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
    3. Check if any DTC is stored in the KOS-ECU.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  .
    2. NO:  Go to Step 5.
  5. STEP 5. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), read the other system diagnostic trouble code. 
    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to ON.
    3. Check if any DTC is stored in the OSS-ECU.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Perform troubleshooting for the OSS-ECU (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  ). On completion, go to Step 6.
    2. NO:  Go to Step 6.
  6. STEP 6. Replace the battery in the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnostic trouble code. 

    Replace the battery of the keyless operation key for which the DTC is stored, and check whether the DTC is stored again.

    1. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 7.
    2. NO:  The procedure is complete (Discharged battery).
  7. STEP 7. Replace the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnostic trouble code. 

    Replace the keyless operation key for which the DTC is stored with a new one, register the encrypted code and keyless operation key ID (refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE < KOS-ECU >  ), and check whether the DTC is stored again.

    1. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 8.
    2. NO:  The procedure is complete.
  8. STEP 8. Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is stored again. 
    1. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
    2. Check if the DTC is stored.

    Q: Is the DTC stored? 

    1. YES:  Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE < KOS-ECU >  ).
    2. NO:  The procedure is complete.
