Inspection Procedure 1: No navigation screen is displayed: Diagnosis
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Required Special Tools:
- MB991223: Harness Set
- MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
- STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
- Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III) ."
- Check the input signal of ACC relay.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2
- NO: Refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1: THE IGNITION SWITCH (ACC) SIGNAL IS NOT RECEIVED .
- STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in ACC line between multivision display connector and ETACS-ECU connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 3.
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 3. Voltage measurement at multivision display connector (+B2 terminal).
- Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
- Check the voltage between the multivision display connector (+B2 terminal) and ground.
OK: The voltage should measure approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage).
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 5.
- NO: Go to Step 4.
- STEP 4. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in +B2 line between fusible link and multivision display connector
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 5. Resistance measurement at multivision display connector (GND, GND2 terminal).
- Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
- Check the continuity between the multivision display connector (GND terminal) and ground.
OK: The resistance should be 2 ohms or less
- Check the continuity between the multivision display connector (GND2 terminal) and ground.
OK: The resistance should be 2 ohms or less
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 7
- NO: Go to Step 6
- STEP 6. Check of open circuit in GND or GND2 line between multivision display connector and ground
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 7. Retest the system
Check if the multivision display power is turned ON.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
