Inspection Procedure 7: The picture and sound of audio adapter input are not played: Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

• MB991223: Harness Set
• MB992006: Extra Fine Probe

1. STEP 1. Check of DVD picture 

   Check that the DVD picture is displayed normally.

   Q: Is the check result normal? 

   • YES:  Go to Step 2.
   • NO:  Perform the troubleshooting related to the MMCS (Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART  ).
2. STEP 2. Check the audio adapter. 

   Inspect the audio and video adapter. (Refer to AUDIO ADAPTER INSPECTION  )

   Q: Is the check result normal? 

   • YES:  Go to Step 3.
   • NO:  Replace the audio and video adapter.
3. STEP 3. Check multivision display connector C-107 and audio adaptor connector C-135 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. 

   Q: Are multivision display connector C-107 and audio and video adaptor connector C-135 in good condition? 

   • YES:  Go to Step 4.
   • NO:  Repair the connector concerned.
4. STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between multivision display connector C-107 (terminal 1, 2, 10) and audio adaptor connector C-135 (terminal 6, 4, 5). 
   • Check the communication lines for open circuit and short circuit.

   Q: Is the wiring harness between multivision display connector C-107 (terminal 1, 2, 10) and audio adaptor connector C-135 (terminal 6, 4, 5) in good condition? 

   • YES:  Go to Step 5.
   • NO:  The wiring harness may be damaged or the connector(s) may have loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector. Repair the wiring harness as necessary.
5. STEP 5. Retest the system 

   Check that the external input is normal.

   Q: Is the check result normal? 

   • YES:  The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
   • NO:  Replace the audio adaptor.
