When assembling, it is essential to observe screwing sequences and tightening torques.
Failure to comply with the regulations can lead to leaks and damage.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Depending on the build level, different cylinder head covers and therefore different profile seals can be fitted.
Identify suitable cylinder head cover in the applicable BMW parts catalogue and perform the corresponding variant of the work steps.

Version with a profile seal:
Replace the profile seal (1).

Insert and install the profile seal (1).

Version with multiple profile seals:
Replace the profile seals (arrows).

Guide in and install the profile seal (arrows).

Guide in and position the cylinder head cover.
Ensure that the profile seal is positioned correctly on the cylinder head cover.
Turn all the screws in the order from (1) to (13) until hand-tight.
Tighten all screws in the sequence (1) to (13).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Cylinder head cover to cylinder head
M6x27	Joining torque	8 Nm
M6x27	Tightening torque	10 Nm

Insert the wiring harness section (1) for the injectors and the ignition coil and install it.
Attach the wiring harness section (1) for the injector and the ignition coils on the cylinder head cover (2).

Insert and install the wiring harness section (2) for the engine.
Tighten down screw (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS

Wiring harness section for engine to cylinder head cover
M6	Tightening torque	5 Nm

Insert the wiring harness section (3) for the engine and position it.
Connect and lock the connector (1).
Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
Secure clamps (2).

Connect and lock the connector (1) to the exhaust camshaft sensor (2).
Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
