Install catalytic converter

Preparing the catalytic converter 

• Replace seal (1)  on catalytic converter.

• Feed and position catalytic converter (1)  .

• Replace nuts (1)  .

• Hand-tighten nuts (1)  .

• Replace the V-clip (1)  .

  Parts:  V-band clamp

• Feed in and install V-band clamp (1)  on the catalytic converter (2)  .
• Tighten V-clip (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  V-ribbon clip of catalytic converter to exhaust turbocharger
  V-band clamp Replace V-band clamp.	Tightening torque	13 Nm

• Tighten nuts (1)  .

  Catalytic converter to holder
  M8 Replace nuts.	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Check rubber mount (1)  for damage, replace if necessary.

  Parts:  Rubber mount

• Connect rubber mount (1)  to the catalytic converter.

• Feed in and install the heat shield (2)  .
• Tighten nuts (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Heat shield to body
  Sheet metal nut	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm

• Feed into top exhaust duct (2)  and install.
• Tighten down screw (1)  .

• Feed into bottom exhaust duct (2)  and install.
• Tighten down screws (1)  .

• Feed into heat shield (1)  on heat shield (2)  and install.

  Heat shield to cylinder head

• Fit and install the heat shield (1)  on the exhaust turbo charger, top.
• Make sure that the heat shield (1)  is correctly positioned on the heat shield. (2)  .

• Fit and secure the coolant line (2)  to the holder (3)  .
• Tighten down screw (1)  .

If installed: Installing the differential pressure sensor with the pressure line 

• Use the special tool 5 A19 557  for tightening the union nut.

• Version A 

  Feed in and install the pressure line (2)  in the holder (3)  .

  Tighten the union nut (1)  with the special tool 5 A19 557  .

• Version B 

  Feed in and install the pressure line (2)  in the holder (3)  .

  Tighten the union nut (1)  with the special tool 5 A19 557  .

• Guide in and install differential pressure sensor (4)  .
• Tighten down screw (3)  .

  Differential pressure sensor to holder
  screw	Tightening torque	4 Nm

• Replace pressure hose (2) 

  Parts:  Pressure hose

• Connect pressure hose (2)  to differential pressure sensor (4)  .
• Connect connectors (1)  and lock.

  The connector (1)  must engage audibly.
