52 26 022 Removing and installing/replacing striker for left or right rear seat backrest (Cooper 2-door hatchback models, 2020-2023)

IMPORTANT:

Microencapsulated screws must be coated with Loctite if they are to be reused
Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of hardening)
Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened.
Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use

Preliminary work needed:

Remove trunk wheel arch panel. Refer to 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH TRIM and 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
Fold backrest

Removal:

Unscrew the screws (1).

Remove striker (2).

Installation:

Position striker (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 52 26 3AZ .

Required reworking:

Install luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel. Refer to 51 47 151 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH TRIM and 51 47 161 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT TRUNK WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
Fold up and engage rear seat backrest
