51 21 330 Removing and installing/replacing the weather strip on the inside of the front door

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL 
• The INSTRUCTIONS ON INSTALLATION OF WINDOW SEALS  serve as the basis for this repair instructions and must be observed without fail.

If weather strip is reused, make sure it is not bent.

Removal: 

Release weather strip (1) from brackets (2) and pull off upwards.

Installation: 

Shaped part (1) and retaining elements (2) of weather strip (3) must not be damaged.

Shaped part (1) must be correctly threaded into the door.

Coat weather strip (3) prior to fitting with APPROVED LUBRICANT .

If necessary, remove clamps from weather strip and attach to door.

Replace faulty clamps.

Engage weather strip (1) in brackets (2) and connect to door.

Ensure that weather strip (1) has the right installation position on door (2) and side window (3).
