Removing and installing or replacing side airbag, front left or right seat (Cooper)
WARNING:

A damaged side airbag must be replaced.
A damaged side airbag has limited protective function or loses its protective function altogether in extreme cases.

Preliminary work needed:
- Partially remove BACKREST COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT and/or BACKREST COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .
Removal:
Release cover (1) and fold to the side.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Unlock and disconnect AIRBAG PLUG CONNECTION .
Feed out side airbag (1) downwards out of cover pocket (2) and set it down.
Installation:
Feed in side airbag (1) upwards into cover pocket (2).
Secure nuts (1).
Tightening torque 72 12 3AZ .
Connect AIRBAG CONNECTOR .
Attach cover (1).
Required follow-up work:
Install the BACKREST COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT and/or BACKREST COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .
